Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a wonderful school, in a hardworking community, in Corona, NY. My students are enthusiastic and eager to learn. They come from caring families who want the best for them and help them out in every way they can, but often rely on the school community for the most support. My students love coming to school and fully appreciate any new experiences or resources provided for them. They are eager to learn to read and write while establishing friendships.
My Project
This year we are being very careful to ensure that students have their own supplies. To help them I have created notebooks to paste reading materials in so students do not need to share. Teachers Pay Teachers has a lot of great resources to provide students with their own individual practice texts for use in the classroom and also that can be brought home for practice. In addition there are many items that are great for posting in google classroom. We usually encourage partner reading and shared texts but this year we have to be careful, so these resources will help the students to get the practice they need.
