This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am writing on behalf of our Special Education Transition Program at MCS, where we support a group of inspiring young adults aged 18–22 with learning disabilities. Our program is dedicated to helping these students develop the real-world skills they need to lead confident, independent lives.
We are excited to introduce a new project in our classroom: a student-run t-shirt business.
This hands-on initiative will allow our students to explore their creativity, apply academic skills like math and reading, and build essential life and job skills in a meaningful and engaging way.
To bring this vision to life, we are seeking the donation of a DTF color printer—a vital tool that will enable our students to design and print their own t-shirt graphics, packaging materials, promotional flyers, and more. With access to a color printer, our students can take ownership of their creations, express their individuality, and experience the pride that comes from turning ideas into finished products.
This business will be more than just a classroom project; it will be a vehicle for learning, self-expression, and personal growth. Through budgeting, order tracking, marketing, and teamwork, our students will strengthen both academic and social skills. More importantly, it will give them a chance to shine and feel capable of achieving success.
We would be deeply grateful for your support in helping us equip our classroom with this essential technology. Your generosity will directly impact the lives of our students and empower them to learn, create, and inspire.
Thank you for considering our request. We welcome any contribution you can provide and would be happy to acknowledge your support in our materials and within our school community. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to discuss how you can be involved in this exciting endeavor.
