My Students
The most important thing for me as a teacher is that my students are leaving my class in June with more tools in their toolbox than when I met them in September. I want them to be ready for what lies ahead and for them to be able to meet those challenges in a more autonomous way.
I am currently a middle school English teacher.
It is at times challenging for my students to print their work at home because many do not have the necessary technology at home. I am therefore requesting an all-in-one printer.
The majority of the students in my school are struggling financially. Often times, the students come into school without the necessary supplies. Many of our students qualify for the state's free lunch program. Several of my students are English language learners and are new to this country. This never stops them from working hard every day and that is why I'd like to be able to help them print their assignments. It would also be very helpful to be able to print worksheets for them, the instant they need them.
My school has lost $1 million in the budget cuts, and teachers are no longer able to personally give each student the resources they desire.
My Project
Having a scanner in my classroom will enable me to project any additional teaching tools on my classroom Smartboard to aid my students in their understanding and comprehension.
The document scanner will enable me to cut down on making copies, as I would be able to project certain things instead of copying. This would also show my students that going green doesn't have to be difficult. We reduce our copies by displaying work on our Smartboard.
Being able to print their writing pieces would help them accomplish their goals of publishing their work. We can decorate our class bulletin boards and share work with classmates.
Printing worksheets, vocabulary sheets, differentiating assignments, publishing, projecting, and sharing are just the beginning of what we can accomplish together with this printer/scanner combo.
My students inspire me to be the best teacher I can be.
They overcome hardships each day, yet still have the drive to succeed. They want to learn and they deserve the best education possible. Without a proper education, a successful future will be nearly impossible. However, getting the right foundation and education can be the start of a successful future that will open doors they never thought possible. Having a classroom stocked with supplies will help my students on their road to success.
