My students need a color printer so we can print classwork, homework, tests and quizzes, as well as engaging interactive assignments, since they don't have access to one at home!
We have some of the most AMAZING students in our school! While many face some unbelievable challenges each and every day, my kids come to school ready to learn! My students are excited about math especially Station Fridays.
At a high needs school in Brooklyn, my students face an unimaginable range of challenges on a daily basis.
One thing that is constant in their life is school. Each day, these students come to class and try their best, despite any obstacles they may face. It is hard to get students excited about learning when they are faced with poverty and homelessness.
My Project
My students will use the printer daily, since many of them are from single parent household and live below the poverty line. Buying a printer is not at the top of their must have list. This makes it extremely difficult on our students, as most assignments must be typed an printed.
Not having access to a printer provides additional challenges for our future readers, writers, mathematicians and scientist and we spend most of our class time copying notes instead of engaging in activities.
As a title I school we do not have the funds to provide an printer that All students would have access to. It is essential that our students have their learning time maximum and fully supported so that they can be successful.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
