This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a second-grade teacher in the city of Chicago. There are many challenges that face my students each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are from low-income families. The majority of our families fall below the poverty level.

Despite all of this, I am lucky to be working with a group of students who are eager and motivated to learn.

Their eagerness motivates me to find new ways to improve instruction. The pride and excitement on their faces as they are growing as learners are very rewarding.

My students love working on the iPads and Chromebooks. There are so many excellent resources available to them and they truly enjoy learning with them. At times, my students will produce something that they wish to share with classmates and their families. Unfortunately, we do not have a printer available in my classroom. A printer will help add to the excitement my students have about learning. They will also have great pride while sharing their work with others.

This printer will help to add to the enjoyment of my students' learning.

In funding this project, you will be making a difference in the education of my students. Thank you for considering the funding of this project. My students and I greatly appreciate it.
