My Project
This year we started a maker space in our K-12 school library serving urban youth from low-income families in Milwaukee. We have an amazing group of diverse students who bloom through hands-on learning and exploration.
We are seeking items for our youngest students to engage with low-tech maker tools.
Our students have shown us that this space is engaging, fun, and impactful. Making tools available at all levels encourages literacy, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
This project will give our children the opportunity to play and build in the library maker space. The Duplos are specifically geared toward our younger students. We are uniquely positioned in Milwaukee as a public Montessori School serving K-12 students and our library maker space offers our youngest students a chance at positive mentorship with older students.
