This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is the heart of Downtown Phoenix filled with resilient, amazing and talented students. The Pandemic made an impact that school staff are still trying to repair to set each kid up for success. These materials will help incentivize and reward students for learning skills such as: impulse control, emotion regulation, coping skills and problem solving skills. These skills will have a direct impact on school climate and culture.
Being able to have rewards, fidget items, and journaling supplies will help students develop a growth mindset and be able to process their feelings and set goals.
The stress balls will allow students to utilize a coping skill to stay in class when feeling strong emotions. The journals are used to allow students to have a safe, quiet place to process emotions before talking it out. All of these items combined will allow social emotional learning to take place and impact each student on campus.
