This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each day my preschoolers spend a large portion of our school day on the playground. Basketball is one of their favorite activities to play!

I teach in a preschool classroom in a high poverty public school.

Our preschool has three classrooms. We have sixty preschoolers, ages 3-5, who attend our preschool program each day. Our preschool includes typically developing children as well as students with special needs.

My Project

Each day in preschool, we bring the classroom outdoors. We bring a cart with bubbles, books, and many other items. We also bring balls and jump ropes. The existing basketball hoop is too high for our preschoolers. This basketball hoop will allow our preschoolers to play basketball and be able to reach the hoop. This will enhance our students' balance and motor skills.

Funding this project will make a huge difference with our preschool students.

Students will be able to improve their motor skills by playing basketball with a hoop just their size.
