My students need hands on manipulatives, puzzles, practice cards, and pocket charts that will allow them the opportunity to put into practice the preschool standards they are taught on a daily basis.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Little hands that are kept busy with instructive activities learn best! SRLDP stands for School Readiness Language Development Program and part of this readiness includes fine motor skills, as well as phonemic awareness and these supplies will allow for them to achieve these goals.

My students attend a low-income, low-performing school in Los Angeles, CA, which does not have an active PTA that would help to buy these materials.

My students are inquisitive, loving and very self motivated who inspire not only myself as an educator but also their own parents. They constantly amaze themselves with what they can achieve.

My Project

The letter stamp activities will allow students to independently identify letters while also being able to trace them multiple times. As will the letter trace mats, both of these add to the repeat and varied exposure that students need to the alphabet. Not only do they learn by singing the alphabet, seeing the letters posted around the room but also most importantly by tracing and following modeled writing skills. The number mats and activity centers will ensure that they have multiple opportunities to count and touch counters and objects which will aid in building the repetitive number ordering that is required to learn counting numbers.

Preschool is such an important building block for the educational success of any student and by donating to this project you are helping to make this a real possibility.

Children learn through different modalities and these supplies will ensure they use all of their senses to acquire phonemic awareness and number sense.
