Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The resources we requested (find the letter activity and alphabet cones) are going to be very helpful to my students because they will have the opportunity to learn in a more fun way, playing and recognizing each of the letters with their sound, as well as matching the uppercase letters with the lowercase letters. Prekindergarten is about learning and playing at the same time, so that they do not get frustrated and can acquire the necessary knowledge. We are working on learning letters because with them the students will be able to read, write and capture thoughts, ideas and emotions.
My students are excellent illustrators, they love being able to capture stories in their drawings, so with the projector it will be easier and more fun for them to find images and have an idea of how to draw in a better way.
I am sure that they will develop drawing skills, and it will be more exciting to be able to make their drawings with more creativity by adding more details.
The markers will help us in our writing center where they do write, such as letters, first strokes and drawings. We will use the color organizers to accommodate the crayons, it will be very useful because our tables are circular, and it is difficult for the students to reach all the colors on the table.
The doctor kits will be used in our pretend center, where they are offered a space to develop skills such as creativity, imagination and problem solving, to explore different roles and situations while learning to express themselves and interact with others. Students will learn to share, as well as develop their language by expanding their vocabulary and communication skills. Manipulating props and materials during play will help them hone their fine motor skills.
