My Students

I am a preschool teacher in a Title I school in Chesapeake, Virginia. I have 18 curious and excited students in my class. Our students are picked on a need basis and just flourish in our classroom that is rich in print, music and hands-on activities.

My students love anything that is interactive and hands-on.

That is going to be so much more difficult this year. We are working hard to make centers and our classroom fun and exciting for our kids. We still want our children to be able to have meaningful learning experiences in the classroom and outside. We are working hard to make outside and inside play fun and interactive for our kids.

I strive to find activities and experiences that hook each child and give them exposure to academics needed for kindergarten. My students love working in small groups and love when we have new materials in the classroom.

My Project

I am asking for some different materials for indoor and outdoor usage in my preschool classroom. We will use the magnetic and Velcro strips for visual schedules for our children. We will also use it for creating hands on activities that the children will be able to help manipulate. The letters for our water tables will help make learning letters and sound more hands on and exciting. I am also excited to use the new trays for our light table to help with sorting and patterning.

Outdoor time is so important to children, especially in the era we are in now in the classroom.

I will use the chalk, bubbles, Rocket launchers and other outdoor items when we are unable to be on a playground. The children love new outdoor toys to help get out their energy.
