Preschool Ocean Adventurers

Help me give my students an ocean adventure with a sea life specimen center, aquarium kit and ocean books including Following Papa's Song.

My Students

My classroom consists of twenty, enthusiastic and inquisitive young learners with active imaginations and kind hearts. Some of the children are English language learners while encountering their first classroom setting. I work in partnership with my assistant teacher to create a safe, supportive environment for my students with a focus on literacy and language development.

Together, we set the foundation for learning through small group literacy, art, mathematics, and science activities, while balancing the school day with social-emotional problem-solving and self-help practices.

Our activities also promote kinetic movement for active learners as well as whole child, free-choice centers.

My Project

We are creating a new theme for the end of the summer. The children are very interested in ocean life after a short exploration of sea turtles. They saw the preciousness and amazing wonder of baby sea turtles hatching. They have been acting out the sea turtles' brave journey to greet the sea ever since. We hope to build upon their ocean knowledge and excitement.

Our preschoolers are ready to dive deep and investigate the many wonders of the ocean including animals and plant life.

We would greatly appreciate new resources for our science center and books to make this happen.
