Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Everyday we start by singing the song "We are amazing, amazing amazing. We are amazing and we love to come to school. School is for learning, for learning, for learning. School is for learning because we are amazing." After breakfast the children proceed to go outside for outdoor learning centers.

My students are children from ages three to five years old.

I have 15 female students and 16 male students. Most of the children are San Pedro residents. My students are curious and eager to learn preschoolers, there is never a dull moment with them. They love to explore new activities, crafts and materials. The kids love to paint pictures at the easel and build structures with blocks and Lego's. They love to play dress-up and role play with their peers. My school is a loving and nurturing environment where kids love to come each morning to learn and have fun with friends. The staff is dedicated to the children's growth and well being. Each week we prepare age appropriate lessons, materials and activities to help our students grow cognitively, physically, emotionally and socially.

My Project

The Magna Tiles Set and the Beginners Hammering Kit would go in my classroom manipulative's center and the Design Rollers would go in the Arts and Crafts Center. My students would be able to build and create many different structures by manipulating and connecting the various magnet shapes. Preschoolers are developing eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills that will help them with writing skills. That is why these resources are important to their development. The children will produce paintings with The Design Rollers. These rollers will help my students with writing development, by stroking the rollers up and down, side to side the children will develop skills for correct letter formation and also, their artistic side will flourish with these materials.

These donations will improve my classroom by providing the materials preschoolers need to develop fine motor skills which are essential to writing development.

My students lives will be changed by being given the opportunity to explore new and exciting educational materials that will undoubtedly help them develop the fine motor skills they need to be able to hold writing tools such as pencils, markers and crayons.
