My Students

My classroom consists of 20 enthusiastic and inquisitive young learners with active imaginations and kind hearts. Some of the children are English language learners while encountering their first classroom setting. I work in partnership with my assistant teacher to create a safe, supportive environment for my students, focusing on literacy and language development.

Together, we set the foundation for learning through small group literacy, art, mathematics, and science activities, while balancing the school day with social-emotional problem-solving and self-help practices.

Our activities also promote kinetic movement for active learners as well as whole child, free-choice centers.

My Project

My preschoolers are imaginative, creative, and highly engaged with sensory and process art experiences. We are always looking for new materials to inspire their next projects. We are in need of new collage materials, paints, canvases, and sand to support our ocean unit.

The art center is a favorite gathering place in the classroom as the children immerse themselves in creating, experimenting, and exploring.

Their art discussions, ingenuity, and open-ended discoveries help to bring our study to life. The art center is a place of choice, possibility, and encouragement in trying new skills.
