This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I co-teach in a preschool classroom, at a Tier-2 school in Hartford, CT. These children are diverse learners and love to explore the environment around them. Please help me give my excellent, preschool students new pencils, glue sticks, and a scissor caddy.

Early development in fine motor skills involves children holding a pencil or crayon to write and draw.

The children begin the school year by learning how to form the letters in their names. Most children have little experience grasping a pencil or a glue stick! These fat pencils will suit the level of muscle development in their hands much better than thin pencils. They will produce better results, and make the process of writing less stressful or painful. In having these pencils and glue sticks, the children's fine motor muscles will develop greatly and help prepare them for writing and art projects!
