My Students

Hello All! I am a fourth grade English Language Arts teacher in Houston, Texas. My students are brilliant young scholars that deserve a classroom environment that promotes fun and engaged learning. My students struggle with reading on grade level due to learning disabilities, whether diagnosed or not, that hinder their performance. Please join me in contributing to tools that will create a classroom that is truly differentiated and directly addresses their needs. Thanks for donating to make sure they are successful!

My Project

My students are the most inspiring kids in the world. They deserve a classroom that addresses their specific needs. I will be using very detailed interactive notebooks so my kids can track their progress in all subjects. These notebooks will be companions for their homework time and travel with them to fifth grade!

I will use our Chromebooks to create lessons using apps such as Quizizz and Kahoot for fun and interactive review sessions.

This year we will have smaller groups that will make it easier for me to monitor student progress as they use the devices.

I will be creating a library space for the top readers in my class to incentivize their learning. Students will be rewarded time in the library sitting area for completing their weekly reading logs. We will have classroom novels studies and discussions using the informational TIME for Kids magazines.

I will have several students that struggle with learning disabilities. They will benefit from the large anchor charts across our print rich classroom. In addition, each child will use a reading tracker to combat their difficulties.

Our Title I school is over 80% free and reduced lunch. Many of our families struggle with purchasing supplies for their children. The additional supplies that you see will last our class the entire school year.
