My Students
Our high school is home to the best students in the Louisville. Our students are determined, gritty, hardworking, focused, and resilient. Our students are 90% free or reduced-price lunch and most travel more than 30 minutes to and from school. Our students have all overcome many adversities throughout their life and still choose to fight and improve their legacy.
Our young men on our football team have fought for social injustices and made a stand to improve their lives and all of those around them.
The character of our young men is impressive to be a part of as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
The curl bars, adjustable benches, and clamps will be used in our free weight portion of the newly designed weight room. These items will be used by all of our athletes, boys and girls, in an effort to ensure physical wellness and safety.
My Project
One thing we have long desired and needed at our school was an effective weight room. We have worked very hard to secure financial donations and grants to help us meet our goal. Through our partnership with Dick's Sporting Goods, we have the ability to get the "extras" that our athletes need to be successful. We use agility boxes every workout and have been using old homemade plywood boxes that have been rendered dangerous due to deterioration of the wood. We are looking to replace these boxes with foam plyometric boxes which provide a much safer experience for our athletes. It is our goal to provide an experience unlike any other public school in Louisville.
