My Project
My 7th grade students are at a crucial age where their exposure to STEM can shape their future career paths. My goal is to provide them with hands-on experiences that spark interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics careers.
This project aims to introduce students to real-world engineering and computer science through the integration of Sphero BOLT robots in our science classroom.
These programmable robots will help students envision themselves in future STEM careers. Using the Sphero BOLT, students will experience firsthand how professionals in robotics, programming, and data science approach problems.
They will tackle engineering challenges that reflect real-world scenarios, such as designing automated navigation systems and implementing sensor-based responses. The Sphero BOLT's built-in sensors will allow students to collect and analyze data like actual scientists, teaching them the importance of data-driven decision making in modern STEM careers.
These experiences will help students connect their classroom learning to potential future careers in robotics engineering, software development, data science, and other emerging tech fields. My students are eager to explore these possibilities and begin their journey into the world of STEM careers.
