My Project
These resources will be used in our Life Skills program to simulate real-world experiences in a safe, supportive environment. With your donations, we will I will Teach mealtime etiquette using paper plates, napkins, and cups, helping students practice table manners, appropriate conversation during meals, and cleaning up after themselves. Build independence by using the microwave to prepare simple meals and snacks. Students will learn how to read instructions, follow safety guidelines, and clean up after cooking.
Students will develop communication and social skills through guided group meals, where students practice requesting items, offering help, and thanking others important steps in building both expressive and receptive language and reinforce hygiene routines such as proper handwashing before meals, using paper towels, and disposing of trash properly—skills that are often overlooked but vital for daily living.
Each activity will be carefully planned to not only support academic learning but to foster confidence, responsibility, and social understanding. For many of my students, these life experiences are stepping stones toward greater independence and community involvement.
