Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located in an inner city neighborhood. Most of the students have two working parents and many speak a second language at home. The neighborhood our school is located in is a diverse, urban setting.
My students are eager young learners.
This school year will be their first exposure to a large public school. The children speak another language at home and are economically challenged. Most students receive free lunch.
My students deserve to start their academic careers with as many opportunities as I can provide for them. They are curious and creative. They are full of questions and are constantly exploring the world around them.
My Project
The items for our project will help set up a safe and inviting classroom for our students starting in person school in September of 2021.

The name tags, music, stickers and birthday badges will help students feel calm, welcome and loved. The book bins, fasteners and outlet plugs will keep items stored away and the students safe from hazards in the classroom. The labels and bassinets will help with organization and function in their center areas.
