This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

An unknown author said, “ To the world you may be just a teacher, but to your students you are a hero.’’ On a daily basis, my scholars motivate me to be that hero! Although I serve scholars that come from a low economic background, they come to school with high expectations of themselves. My scholars are like sponges ready to soak up knowledge and tools that we as teachers can offer. My scholars love using technology to learn, however we are not 1-1 in technology. If we had more technology in the classroom, they would greatly benefit and grow. Like the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow says,” If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why oh why can’t I ?” Help me help my little bluebirds fly!

My Project

If we want to prepare our children for success in school, work and life, opportunities to learn 21st-century skills are essential. These tablets will give them the technological foundation they need to progress in a tech savvy world where change is constant and learning never stops. We do not have a moment to lose in preparing our students to compete and to succeed in the 4 c’s; communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity – skills that all learners need for success in school, work and life. This is why these tablets are essential and will provide a significant upgrade in the classroom where we are implementing Project Based Learning and Blending Learning. It will embrace teaching skills and subjects in an a way that resembles real life scenarios.
