Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in a high poverty area. My school has provided my students with laptops to use in furthering their education of technology.

My students are 1st graders that are English language learners who are determined to learn how to read and write.

They are motivated and I want to support them with what they need to become better readers and writers.

Even though my school does not have all the technology necessary for learning, we still rank number one in our network. People say that children today are "technology children." This means that children today are growing up with technology all around them. I want to give my students the opportunity to learn what they are growing up with. My students love to read and write. They get excited when they get to pick a new book to take home to read. I love to support my students with their reading and writing and I am determined to do everything I can, to help them with those skills.

My Project

Next year, students will be walking into a classroom after not being physically in school for over 5 months. This will be a huge transition from the year before. Students will be at all different levels because of regression.

These materials will help my students during this transition from e-learning back to an in-school setting.

With your support, YOU will be providing these students with writing notebooks and the opportunity to have leveled worksheets that they can use in school and out of school. Then, if students need to go back to e-learning that they can take the materials home with them.
