My Students
Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere. ~Chinese Proverb
My students are eager to learn and stay engaged when they participate in hands-on lessons.
They LOVE questioning, discovering and exploring. My students amaze me with their willingness to try and try again even when concepts are challenging for them. They work well together in groups and understand that we all have our own learning styles, strengths and weaknesses. They support and encourage one another. It is my responsibility to make learning experiences meaningful. I strive to provide as many unique learning experiences for my students as possible.
My Project
My students need high-interest math activities that will meet the Common Core State Standards. The materials I am requesting will be used in stations with partners or small groups of 4 students each. Math standards included in the stations are Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Measurement and Data, Number and Operations, and Geometry. All of these materials focus on essential skills my students need to be successful.
These learning centers provide hands-on practice for every grade 2 Common Core math standard.
These materials will be used daily in math stations. Some will also be used in teacher-led small groups. My students need to work in cooperative groups, problem solve, and use higher order thinking skills. These materials will help provide those opportunities!
