This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hardworking individuals, and they constantly want to please. They deserve to have the opportunity to receive all the help that is available to them. They come from a rough neighborhood surrounded by high poverty and crime. Despite their hardships, they rarely miss a day of school.

My students come from low-income households, and they don't have much at home to offer to the school when it comes to supplies.

Many times, they come to school hungry and in need of hygiene supplies. We provide free breakfast and lunch to all children. What they do have to provide are big hearts and brains ready to be filled with new and exciting information.

My Project

As we are preparing for the opening of our school, all my students need to have their own individual supplies and math manipulatives in order to stay safe and germ-free. I want to make sure they have everything they need to succeed.

Having math manipulatives is very important for my students to learn the foundation in the math practice.

We need place value discs to teach adding and subtracting numbers. Each student needs to have their own baggie with the manipulatives. My students also need their own individual pencil sharpener, crayons, and markers to use as needed for projects. We are in need of index cards to write high-frequency words, spelling words, and math facts. Having an Air Purifier will help keep our classroom healthy and hopefully free from the many germs and viruses in the air. Also, having a supply of extra masks on hand when children are in need is very important for all of our health and safety. Let's help our children receive everything they need in these hard times. Any support will be greatly appreciated.
