it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Working with at-risk students requires being extra prepared. I try very hard to have supplies for almost every situation. I've requested an electric hole punch for the classroom, dry-erase supplies, page protectors, and tissues. Students will benefit from the new whiteboards, which will help in our small group rotation. We plan on using them to sound out new words, assist in sentence writing, and encourage accountable talk. The laminating sheets will help keep new teacher-made materials clean and neat, allowing all students to access the materials, and consumable cleaning supplies. They will be able to work in a setting where they feel most comfortable. My classes consist of amazing students.
The large majority of my students are limited English speaking, English language learners, receive resource services, or are dyslexic.
About 70% are socioeconomically disadvantaged, so getting supplies for school is not easy. They all have to possess win-win attitudes and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.
Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, it takes exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
