My Project
This project is for the STORM Men's Basketball Team at SGHS (a Title 1 school). Many of our young men and women aren’t able to afford fancy trainers or big gym memberships. Instead they spend most of their afternoons, weekends and summers here in our school gym utilizing the minimal equipment the school has provided.
Our Scholar-Athletes work year-round to hone their skills with the hopes of pursuing their dreams of going to college and potentially playing at the collegiate level.
For some basketball may provide an opportunity that otherwise may not exist. We plan to use the 6- Wilson Evolution Indoor Basketballs, 2- Slipp Nott Traction Mat Replacements, and 17- Liberty Imports Reversible Men's Mesh Athletic Scrimmage Jerseys to help provide those opportunities.
We use basketballs daily to help develop the confidence and competitive spirit of our student-athletes. They will also work on team togetherness, mental toughness, perseverance, and overcoming adversity. The lessons they learn in practice and on the court will carry over into their improved academic progress.
While working together for a common goal they will work to improve as young men and women, teammates, and representatives of our school.
