This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the Proyecto Saber classroom we seek to support Latinx students develop a strong sense of confidence in their academic pursuits. One way we can do this is by providing them access to up-to-date technology that brings their projects to life. We have used the same used color printer from the 1990s, but it is finally on its last legs. We are humbly seeking your support to purchase a new printer for our students to use for their assignments and projects.

Learning opportunities are lost when certain printed materials are limited to black-and-white.

Maps, diagrams, paintings and historical images loose a lot of texture and detail when they are only able to be printed in black-and-white. And unfortunately, our school is only able to provide free black-and-white printed materials for students and staff. This means that students and staff have to dig into their own pockets if they need materials in color. This is not equitable and leaves certain students behind.

The printer we have selected has easily replaceable ink that will support the students' learning this year and for many years to come!
