Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With colorful centers in a new bilingual classroom my native speaker students will feel more comfortable as they acquire a new language.
My goal is to develop our students' literacy skills in Spanish to make them better readers as they begin to learn and understand English.
Our students will work with manipulatives, like the alphabet and animal tubs to learn math and number recognition in both languages. With these items in the classroom my students will learn how to use their new vocabulary at home because toys are meaningful to them and will have a greater impact on their language acquisition throughout the school year.
