Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine having so much to say and not having the ability to use your words. Most of my students have communication delays, many of them have been diagnosed with autism and communication disorders. Having an iPad will allow them to use technology to communicate wants and needs.
My students are pre-k children with special needs ranging from mild to moderate developmental disabilities, speech and language delay, autism, and cognitive delay.
They are three to five-years-old. Most of them come from low income households. They love to participate in interactive fun language activities. They are very inquisitive and need a great deal of motivation and visuals to actively participate in school projects.
My Project
My preschool students with special needs would benefit from having access to an iPad. Having an iPad would allow them enhance their communication and cognitive skills. They would be able to access communication apps, educational games, take pictures and videos of their daily preferred school activities.
Having access to interactive games and communication apps will allow my preschool students with special needs learn basic skills which are necessary for their school and life success.
