My Students

No two people perceive the world exactly the same, and no two students learn in exactly the same way. My students are as diverse as they come! Our urban school serves a wide spectrum of families.

We are a designated Neighborhood School, so each family's children come to us for special education, no matter what their needs.

Every child is assigned to a regular classroom and receives support both in and out of their room, depending on the plan created with the family.

This year we have greater diversity than ever, with many children having unique needs. Our school has also recently qualified for Title I services, a vast change from pre-COVID times.

My Project

Our kindergarten students struggled with virtual therapies and shortened days in preschool. We have so many diverse needs this year! A doll who drinks and wets will "model" and motivate toilet training for several little ones. Maps and globes are favorites for several students, and these interactive ones will add instructional value.

Montessori tools for counting, sorting, manipulating, and basic skills are durable, enticing, and wonderful for struggling learners.

In all my years of teaching, I've never had to write preschool goals; now we need the materials that will make learning happen.
