PreK Science Explorers

My students need science materials to explore life cycles, magnets, and plants.

My Students

Preschoolers want to know how their world works, that is why they are true explorers.

My students are from economically disadvantaged homes.

They come to school each day eager to learn. I want these children to have every opportunity to become academically successful. Preschoolers are true explorers. They examine everything they come in contact with. Because of this, I try to provide them lots of educational materials for them to explore. They are learning by building, sorting, and creating. They think they are playing, but they are actually young engineers, designers, scientists, and mathematicians.

My Project

My students will be able to use all of these resources in science centers. They can explore with the magnet discovery centers how magnets work and the differences between repel and attract. They will really enjoy using the Plant Lab to grow a plant, and record the stages as it grows. The Life Cycle Center, and Life Cycle Sequencing Kit will be a great tool to help them "see" the cycles. The students will draw in science journals to record what they are learning. All of these are excellent tools for nurturing young scientists.

Most of my students do not have resources at home to help them academically.

These preschoolers deserve an opportunity to be successful academically. By building a strong foundation in math and science, these children stand a better chance of having a bright future.
