This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are extremely loving and curious little learners. Since the pandemic has closed the schools, my students are struggling being stuck at home. I get messages almost daily from parents saying their student misses me and they want to be back in school. I have received voice messages from my students saying they wish they could be with me. These kids are my world and I have tried to be there for them as much as I can.
My students are the youngest in the school system and sometimes get lost in this process of at home learning.
My students come from low income families and their parents are either too tired to teach them from working all day or having to help their older siblings with their work. I have tried to make at home learning as easy as possible for my struggling families by posting daily videos of me giving lessons. The families simply set up their device with their child, click the link I send them and learn with me through songs and activities.
My Project
My students have worked too hard all year to be stopped now. They have gained such a passion for learning and for challenging themselves at such a young age! I will do everything I can to keep this momentum going.
Yes the pandemic has prevented us from going to the school building but it will not prevent me from continuing to teach my hard workers.
Setting up a cute background for my videos will help create a classroom vibe my students are use to learning in. Having a good video camera with a remote helps me focus on the content I am teaching rather than worrying about if my phone will fall over or if it is even still recording. My mind will be focused on delivering the content to the students in fun and engaging ways without having to worry about unreliable technology.
