My Students

How would you feel if you created something you were proud of on the computer but you were unable to print it, because there was no paper in the printer? Or imagine being one of 100 teachers needing copies for homework and there is no paper in the office.

The 18 energetic four and five year old children in my class love to create and learn.

We are in a Title One school which includes over 1,000 students from Pre-kindergarten to 8th grade. The school is in a high poverty area and about 85% of the students in the school receive free school lunch. Buying new furniture to help improve our classroom is low on the schools priority list.

My Project

The amount of paper a teacher and their students use everyday is ridiculous but it is something we use constantly throughout the day. We need copy paper to use in our classroom printer. This paper will be used by the students to print their computer work and by the teacher to print assignments and notes for the parents. We also need chart paper. Students use chart paper to create murals and the teacher uses it during lessons to create charts for the students or to record students responses to a lesson.

I want to ensure my students have the best education possible and to do that I need supplies.

Paper is sometime the school should provide but it doesn't. Having paper will help me provide the students with the tools they need.
