My Students
My PreK scholars are amazing! The are the only full day class in our school. They are eager to learn and love being in school. Our school is very diverse and takes pride in welcoming and engaging all scholars and families. We are committed to creating a school where kids feel safe, loved, and motivated.
As a school, we take pride in creating an environment where we celebrate diversity, discuss and study racial equity, and "inspire all scholars to reach high levels of social and academic achievement and to become future leaders through a collaborative system of support" (Our School's Mission Statement).
My Project
My scholars learn a lot through their senses. One of the favorite centers in my classroom is my sensory table because scholars get to explore with their hands and play with things such as sand, water, leaves etc. I would love to add more sensory activities and choices throughout my classroom and centers.
Sensory activities are calming, fun, and can improve focus!
I am looking forward to adding different materials such as kinetic sand and snow to our sensory table. My scholars can be creative and discuss their observations with their teachers and peers.
My scholars will also love learning their letters and numbers by finding them in bin full of beads. The sensory paint is also a safe way and fun for scholars to create art with their hands. We are so lucky in PreK to have so much choice in our classroom for our scholars.
