This year I getting to be engaged in learning with my 10 prek students with Autism. We have so many things to learn, see and explore as we guide our way through the year. My project consists of materials needed for my students to have hands-on experience while we explore Holidays Around the World. My students young and require a wide variety of hands-on play materials to work with, positive rewards go a long way to celebrate their success! This project will provide items to hold in their hand as we travel to different countries and learn about their holidays.
I want to build as many opportunities for my students to learn academic skills such as counting, identifying colors and shapes, sorting, and fine motor skills while having fun!
I have a diverse group of students, ranging from 3-5 years old. This also includes many different levels of learning. My students love looking at books, drawing and above all, playing! The items in this project will allow me to reward my students while we learn. The fidgets will help them with counting as they pop the bubbles. The books we will read together, then they will be able to take them home to read with their families. The pencils will give them a new and exciting way to practice writing their letters and name. As they are learning these basic skills, they will build confidence as they explore!
