Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very energetic, curious , inquisitive learners, ready to explore their environment. Each day they come to school with happy faces despite coming from low income families.
My goal as a teacher is to make sure they are provided with a solid and supportive start to their education.
How ever due to budget cuts, funding for my classroom has been limited. My students deserved the best resources available. They need an even play field when they enter kindergarten.
My Project
The "All Around Playtime Patio with Canopy Playhouse" will enable my students to have social and interactive play while being comfortable in the shade. Students learn best when their basic needs are meet so being comfortable will help them stay engaged and active as they play and learn together.
Unfortunately our playground lacks shade and our sand/ water table, and an outside house corner are in need of major overhaul.
The Canopy Playhouse is a perfect solution for my students needs. The open pavilion design has multiple play stations for multiple students to play together. My students can play in the sand and water area while others cook and some wait for dinner to be served! The overall design is perfect for my collaborative classroom which consist of the PAL Program ( Preschool for All Learners) and for my general education students. All my students will benefit with creativity and roll playing, language, and social skills as well as self expression and critical thinking.
