This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Homelessness, you never think of it as a child, but I have them in my room. They sit in my classroom and blend in with the rest, but about 1/4 of our school population lives in shelters around the area.
It is an urban classroom, with kids from all socio-economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
They come to school enthusiastic to learn, eat, and socialize. They love the stability a school like ours provides in such a hectic world we live in.
My Project
Have you ever used a Chromebook? Will if you have you know the difficulty of trying to use the pad without a mouse. Students are being slowed down by this and making careless mistakes.
For example when trying to make tick marks on a number line, without a mouse it is torturous.
It takes them multiple attempts to get it right.
I also think that clicking on hyperlinks or websites will be easier and faster. Students are jumping from website to program and vice versa and without the use of a mouse they get lost.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
