My students need 4 Color Mixing Glasses to begin to understand the concept of combining colors. They also need the Super Snow kit and the Erupting Volcano to learn about earth science.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our classroom is fun and full of energy. Throughout the day many different activities are taking place. Children are free to work in areas of their choosing, from number and letter games to art and manipulatives. Some teacher directed activities include calisthenics, group story time, and math.
The majority of my students are from disadvantage families.
They lack positive attention, loving home environments, and outdoor exploration time. Their parent or parents have limited resources to valuable educational tools and materials and so, they already have a late starting point in preschool. Despite these deficiencies our students are enthusiastic learners who enjoy challenging lessons. And once they do master these new skills, they quickly ask for more! Our school has an awesome group of teachers and staff. All of us here genuinely care for the students' health and well-being. We purchase lots of of materials for our classrooms with our own money, and also hold fundraisers and recruit volunteers to enhance our children's learning tools and environment. Overall, our school is awesome.
My Project
The resources that I am requesting will help enhance our Science area. Because of limited funds, for two years we have been unable to order any new material, games, or other learning resources. Because we are a preschool, all of our lesson are basic foundations that we try to introduce to the children such as, proper names of animals, beginning concepts of mixing and making colors, the introduction of shapes and magnets and how they correspond to different types of metals. After experimenting with all of the materials that you have graciously supplied, our children will have a better understanding of plant life, diversity of animals from different habitats, metals, textures, and colors. I especially like the Sensory Dome. It will show children how to care and develop their 5 senses just by taking care of the plants. It will teach them how to respect, learn, and appreciate nature in its natural form.
Unfortunately, our Science area need a major makeover.
These new items would begin that process. Children love new material and science is an enhancement we desperately need. Teaching children about the environment and helping them make connections about our planet, the weather, and life in general is a great concept and lifelong lesson they will take with them. It will also teach them how to become respectful to all living things around us and how important it is to take care of our world.
