This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Oftentimes, our PreK classroom is the first experience that our young learners have with other children and families. From the moment they step foot into our classroom, we teach them social skills like how to communicate, how to share, and how to express themselves.
Our little learners must develop an understanding of our differences and diversity as well.
In our classroom, we help our students learn about differences in their cultures and race as well. With the donation of books to use during read-alouds and manipulatives they can use during centers, we can help our class learn to embrace who they are and be accepting of others, no matter how different we all are. Our students learn through play, and this is the perfect opportunity to help them explore their differences.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
