My Students
My PreK scholars are amazing! They are the only full day class in our school. They are eager to learn and love being in school. Our school is very diverse and takes pride in welcoming and engaging all scholars and families. We are committed to creating a school where kids feel safe, loved, and motivated.
As a school, we take pride in creating an environment where we celebrate diversity, discuss and study racial equity, and "inspire all scholars to reach high levels of social and academic achievement, and to become future leaders through a collaborative system of support" (our school's mission statement).
My Project
My Pre-K scholars are so bright and eager to learn. They have been working hard problem solving with friends and sharing materials in our classroom. With a room full of four and five year olds, we are always practicing sharing and including others in our play. One way we practice all of these skills is by creating with Legos.
When I asked my scholars to help me create a wish list for our classroom, the first thing said was LEGOS!
We have a small bin of Legos in our classroom. My scholars love playing with our bin of Legos. We have a small set with missing and broken pieces. A new, larger set would be wonderful! The students will use their creativity to build structures while socializing with their peers on what to build. I can only imagine the creativity and problem solving skills they will use!
