My Students
This will be my fifth year teaching Pre-K in a NYC public school. I will have 13 students. I hope that each of them will arrive eager to learn and so excited to begin their school career. Pre-K is the beginning and I believe it is never too early to teach children how to be explorers, discoverers, and creators. It is through play that children learn best. When a student is engaged they learn and grow. I would really appreciate your support in getting these items and helping to make my students’ first school year, one to remember. I want to continue to instill a love of learning, imaginative play, and risk-taking that will last each of them a lifetime!
My Project
Children are unique and each of them learn in a different way. But one thing is true for all children…they learn best when actively engaged in a fun activity. The items I am requesting in my Pre-K classroom will help children’s fine motor skills while they are having fun. The Creature Builder will help children to use their imagination while they work on their fine motor skills by creating these fun creatures will various parts. The Whats’s Inside Soft Feely Box is a fun way to work on descriptive language as the children take turns finding different items. The Rainbow Liquid Sensory Viewers were a favorite of my class in previous years. Unfortunately, over time they began to leak and had to be discarded. But I am sure, that they will soon become a favorite of my new class in September! Finally, I am sure that the Snap Bots and Snap Dinos will be enjoyed by all the children. They will not only use their fine motor skills to take apart and put together these pieces, but I also can’t wait to create amazing fictional stories with them as we play together. Please help to make this project become a reality for my students.
