This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over the summer, our Pre-K students are able to explore the outdoors, travel to new places, and interact with friends and family outside of the classroom. Every year, I create a summertime "bucket" for students to take home on the last day of school.

These "buckets" will provide each of my students with learning materials such as colored pencils, play doh, and sidewalk chalk to continue expressing their creativity, write and practice their letters, and work on their fine-motor skills all at home over the summer.

This year, I have 11 students moving on to kindergarten in my classroom. They will also receive a small book to read over the summer to prepare them for their transition to kindergarten in the Fall.

I love to be able to provide these "buckets" to the students on our last day together before summer vacation, not only because of their excitement to see what is inside, but that it also helps and motivates their young minds to continue their never-ending growth outside of the classroom on summer break!
