Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach UTK (pre-k) in a low income area of Los Angeles. Many of my students unfortunately are not exposed to books and such. Often parents work two jobs to make ends meet and don’t have the time to take them to neighborhood libraries. I make black and white decodable books but having a printer will help me entice my students with colored pictures and books for them to enjoy. Having rising readers leveled books and nursery rhymes songs and stories will assist me to bring fun and familiar songs and stories to my students.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
