Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in a pre-k program that is an all day play based program at a Title I school. Students are the ages of four and five and this is the first time that most are experiencing learning and school that is away from their at home learning foundation.
This is the first time that the majority of these students have seen or experienced any of the topics that are discussed and learning through thematic units would be beneficial.
The bug and animal stencils, life cycle sequencing kit, hydroponics kit, and sorting kit will all be utilized in the classroom during the thematic unit that they correspond with. This will allow the students to experience learning in a fun way that they have part of and allowing the teachers to introduce new materials in create ways that keep the students engaged and wanting to learn more.
