This summer I was blessed with an amazing opportunity to teach in a blended Pre-K Classroom among students who are young learners (early childhood) with varied special needs... predominately autism and developmental delay. My goal is to provide my summer scholars and scholars for the upcoming school year with fun-filled educational learning experiences to increase both their academic and social competence coupled with meeting their diverse needs.
As a special education teacher, I've seen students grow tremendously from hands-on resources in math and science.
Thus, the goal of the project is to address the varied learning needs of each young learner. The selected resources centers around themes used in the Pre-K curriculum as the goal is to enrich their experiences through hands-on learning as well as projects in which they learn through play. Each selected resource is aligned with the curriculum to bring learning new in math and literacy concepts to life!
The preschool personal learning supply pack for preschool-kindergarten students contains the essentials of what young learners need to engage in learning. The growing things theme box, Lakeshore toddler science center, seasons weather theme box, five senses theme box and life cycles theme box not only give students a visual of what they are learning; but they are also able to use their hands and minds to explore. This gives more meaning to concepts. The big knob first puzzle set and early math activity kit teach critical thinking skills as students are manipulating objects in math in addition and exploring how to make math make sense in their young minds! Thank you for your generosity!
