My Students

I teach a group of the most wonderful Pre K children in a Title 1 school. Most of the children placed into my class are from a very poor socioeconomic background and have developmental needs. Young children learn best by structured play, however they also need a firm foundation in technology to be able to reach their potential as we live in a virtual world.

Please help me give my children much needed technology in the classroom.

We are in desperate need of some touchscreen chromebooks in order to prepare our children for the future. Chromebooks are used in our kindergarten classes, and we want to teach our kids with the same technology that they will continue to use next year. Right now we have no devices for children to use independently. With the difficulties our nation is facing, it is even more important for children to be able to navigate technology resources. It is up to me as their teacher to do everything possible to teach my children to be independent learners, and this includes technology!

My Project

Chromebooks will benefit my Pre K children in many ways. Along with competent instruction, computers offer children improved eye hand coordination and language skills and promote school readiness and cognitive development. Improved capacity for visual attention and enhanced social interaction skills naturally accompany these advantages.

I will be using the chromebooks to enhance the readiness skills that we are learning through different learning apps and games.

PearDeck is an app that gives immediate feedback from the teacher to each individual student and will be extremely beneficial. I am very excited to know that my children will have access to learn and grow from individual technology devices.
