My Students

This is my second year teaching Pre-K in a NYC public school. I have 13 students that I just met today! I have 6 boys and 7 girls. Each of them arrived eager to learn and so excited to begin their school career. Pre-K is the beginning and I believe it is never too early to teach children how to be explorers, discoverers, and creators. It is through play that children learn best. When a student is engaged they learn and grow. I would really appreciate your support in getting these items and helping to make my students’ first school year, one to remember. I want to continue to instill a love of learning, imaginative play, and risk-taking that will last each of them a lifetime!

My Project

Pre-K, in my opinion, is one of the most important years in a child’s school career. This is the year where the learning seed is planted and nourished and used to help create lifelong learners. I am requesting a Space Saver Color Changing Light Table and Translucent Manipulatives. The light table and manipulatives will help to make learning and discovery fun and exciting. I will be able to introduce mathematical language and concepts in a fun new way. My students will be able to build and create 3-D structures and use the translucent manipulatives to create patterns, sort, compare and build on previously learned concepts. These items will help to instill a love of learning, develop a mathematical language all while helping to get them ready for Kindergarten in a fun way. I tried to make a light table, but it didn’t work as well as I hoped. This new one will be free standing and will be available every day to the children. Please help me by supporting this project.
