This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Students are young Pre K learners. They are curious, fun, energetic, kind, and loving. They come from a very diverse neighborhood of many different cultural backgrounds. Since the middle of March, schools have been closed all over the country because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our young learners are in need of learning materials so I could help enhance their distance learning experience from home.

School has become a very different experience for our young Pre K friends. They miss having time for centers and playtime. They miss doing art and listening to stories with their teachers and other classmates.

My Project

In our Pre K classroom students learn through different centers and creative play. My young learners favorite center is the block center.

How nice would it be if they could have their own lego brick set so they can recreate the block center at home.

These lego sets will help them to be creative and use their imaginations to build and create different structures.

I also want to help prepare them for kindergarten with a fun book about some of the experiences they will have once they leave Pre K and start kindergarten.

Thank you so much for helping me give our young learners these items to help them have a better hands on experience with distance learning. I know their faces will light up and they will be so surprised when they see the lego set and heartwarming book. This pandemic has been a difficult experience for all of us especially our young learners and I just want them to have a little surprise happiness come their way.
