Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Due to Hurricane Harvey, our school, as well as the district, has lost funds. This has affected the supplies our principal tries so hard to give our students. My school is located in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. The students must be in a lower income bracket to qualify for pre-k. Many of their parents are either from Hispanic countries or are first generation Americans. It is in the classroom that my four and five year olds first develop their feelings about school, learning how it relates to them. They come in eager and ready to learn about the world around them. They especially love learning through play .

My Project

I am asking for 4 pack crayons because the 4 primary colors are the ones that are used the most. Usually these are the first crayons to be missing or needed. These are the colors that are used most often in rainbow writing.

At school, they need to be able to color and draw.

These fine motor skills are absolutely essential for learning to

write. With the development of these skills, a child is able to complete important tasks such as writing, feeding oneself, buttoning and zippering.

The golf pencils are just the right size to encourage the correct grip of holding a pencil.

The watercolors are used to promote more hand and finger coordination in a fun way.

The pegboard, and both type of tweezers will help encourage the correct way to hold a pencil.

The true purpose of these supplies are to make learning to write fun.
