Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I aim to support student learning through concrete materials and hands-on activities, as this age group benefits greatly from tactile and manipulative experiences. Engaging with materials in a direct and practical way enhances their understanding and retention.

I want students to become familiar with these tools so that when they encounter them in future lessons, they not only recognize the names, but also know how to use them confidently and without confusion.

I strongly believe that visual aids and hands-on materials significantly enhance the learning process, especially for English Language Learners (ELLs), by making abstract concepts more accessible.

My goal is to help students reach developmental milestones and build consistent school attendance. I also emphasize recognizing their efforts and achievements; for example, by rewarding progress with incentives like selecting a toy from the treasure box.

Above all, I strive to support the growth of each student's unique personality and encourage them to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment.

Hands-on learning is important for preschool students because it keeps them engaged, develops cognitive function, allows them to actively create knowledge, helps them work through mistakes, and makes transfer learning easier.

Physical education for pre-k students has several benefits, including developing motor skills. As their bodies rapidly grow, pre-k children can learn fundamental motor skills and coordination. Wearing PE clothes to school raises the profile of PE and emphasizes its importance for a healthy lifestyle.

Kindergarten PE focuses on teaching basic motor skills like running, jumping, and throwing. Outdoor play during PE helps develop cognitive, social, emotional, and self-regulatory skills.
